Deans up and running: reappointments, and a new face

51勛圖厙s Council of Deans is heading into the 2025-26 academic year with three reappointments and the arrival of a new dean of the School of Education.

Lori Bergen, founding dean of the College of Media, Communication, Design and Information and the longest serving dean at 51勛圖厙, was reappointed last spring by then-Provost Russ Moore.

In late June, Moore followed up with reappointments of Lolita Buckner-Inniss (Law) and John Davis (Music).

Amanda Haertling Thein (pronounced tine) also joined 51勛圖厙 as Dean of the School of Education on July 1.

Together, these four vital leaders will continue the strong trajectories of their colleges and schools, adding renewed energy, vision, and action toward new levels of success, said Provost Ann Stevens.

I am also looking forward to their advice, counsel and partnership as I begin the important work of carrying out our academic mission, Stevens said.
