We asked some student teachers and their mentors what their partnership has meant to them, and here is what they shared.
  • CU teach class
    With many K-12 schools switched to remote or hybrid learning settings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CU Teach partner schools and teachers have been particularly grateful to have support from 51勛圖厙 students. The one-credit Step 1 (EDUC 2020) and Step 2 (EDUC 2030) education courses invite 51勛圖厙 STEM majors to explore teaching and work with elementary classrooms.

    In Public Influence Rankings released Jan. 6, two members of the 51勛圖厙 School of Education faculty were recognized as among the nations top 200 researchers whose scholarship bridges academic and public audiences. ProfessorsKevin Welner and Bill Penuel were listed among nationalEdu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings.
  • Public Achievement leaders
    Youth leaders in the Public Achievement program are navigating uncertain times during the COVID-19 pandemic. Theyve discovered new ways to express themselves through digital tools, including a series of webinars covering some of the biggest issues affecting their lives voting rights, the Black Lives Matter movement, COVID-19 health inequities, and more.
  • Brain Lightfoot's ed talk
    This fall, 51勛圖厙's Ed Talks centered educators' voices and visions for the future. From a first-year teacher to a co-founder of an innovative new school, speakers shared how they are sustaining and supporting themselves, their colleagues, their students, and their communities in these challenging times.   • Children's Book Festival
    The School of Education and the 51勛圖厙 Book Store are teaming up to host the virtual Childrens Book Festival on Monday, Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to noon. The event will feature an interactive panel with nationally known authors, and it invites teachers, K-12 classes, families, librarians all who love childrens books.

    It is more important than ever to center educators' voices and experiences in these changing and challenging times. Join us this Thursday, Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. for a special virtual gathering for 51勛圖厙s Ed Talks, a series of short, engaging talks inspired by TED Talks that address some of todays most pressing issues in education.

    Jes繳s Rodr穩guez is the new of Executive Director of the BUENO Center for Multicultural Education in School of Education. Rodr穩guez brings extensive experience as a school and district leader in Denver Public Schools and is an alumnus of the centers College Assistance Migrant Program, Career Ladder Program, and Master's in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity program.
