43rd 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Distinguished Citizen Dinner to Honor Dr. Philip and Yvonne DiStefano

51³Ô¹ÏÍø, CO - February 27, 2024 - The 43rd Annual 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Distinguished Citizen Dinner is set to take place on April 12, 2024, at the St. Julien Hotel in 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. Each year the event honors an outstanding citizen or couple, a distinguished Eagle Scout and community hero from the local 51³Ô¹ÏÍø area.

This year's event promises to be a memorable celebration.  The citizen honorees are Dr. Philip and Yvonne DiStefano, whose profound impact on education and community service has left an indelible mark on 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and beyond. Dr. DiStefano, has served as the Chancellor of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø for the past 15 years, and has been a driving force behind the university's success. With over 50 years of service at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, Dr. DiStefano has held various roles, including professor, dean, provost, and chancellor. Throughout his tenure, he has been accompanied by his steadfast partner, Yvonne DiStefano, whose unwavering support and collaboration have been instrumental to his accomplishments.

Together, the DiStefanos have exemplified dedication and leadership, serving as ambassadors for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø both locally and nationally. Their engagement with alumni, students, donors, and friends of the university has strengthened 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's connections and elevated its reputation. Outside of their university endeavors, the DiStefanos have been active members of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø community, supporting local organizations and causes.

The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Distinguished Citizen Dinner serves as a fundraiser for the Adventure West Council of Boy Scouts of America, supporting scouting programs in 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and Northern Colorado. For over four decades, this event has brought together community leaders and scouting enthusiasts to raise funds and ensure the availability of programming for youth in the area.
