PLC Alumni Newsletter - Spring 2024

Notes From Campus
Happy Almost-Summer, PLC Alumni!Ìý
Another school year has comeÌýand gone. We have experienced a lot of leadership development and made plenty of personal and professional memories. The two big highlights of this year were our reignited Alumni Industry Nights and the Alumni Match Program which is growing in popularity every day. All of the events this last year have facilitated meaningful connections and opportunities for growth for current PLCers.ÌýIt is inspiring to witness the PLC community comeÌýtogether forÌý³¦´Ç²Ô²Ô±ð³¦³Ù¾±´Ç²ÔÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýopportunity.
Jason Hanson has completed his first school year as the new DirectorÌýand remains committed to contributing to the program further by collaborating with alumni.ÌýWith a commitment to excellence, Jason has made an impact in connecting students with alumni, specifically to discuss global issues and ways that PLC alumni advocate and implement solutions.
As we look into the 2024-2025 school year, we welcome Riley Jones as Student Staff Director and her Chief of Staff, Dylan Gruszynski.ÌýThey hope to continue increasing networking and mentorship connections to foster experience, knowledge, and leadership development.ÌýKerem Gurkan (PLC 2023) will be the new Alumni Communications Coordinator. You will receive news, highlights, emails, and more, next year.

Lily DeMuth (1999-2024)
The PLC Alumni community lost a beloved member, Lily DeMuth, from natural causes. She was a source of never-ending energy and the warmest smile around. She led her peers with positivity and a love for challenge and adventure. Her laugh was contagious and heard often. Lily will be dearly missed by all of us at the Presidents Leadership Class. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 15th at The Little Beach Park in Minturn, Colorado, starting at 10:00 am. The link below is for a GoFundMe to assist with the Celebration of Life expenses and to establish an athletic scholarship program in Lily's name.

Here are the best ways to stay updated on what's happening with PLC:
•ÌýThe Alumni Newsletter: Our amazing alumni will continue to be recognized, upcoming events will be shared (with an opportunity for you to create and submit an alumni event that we will advertise), and we will provide ongoing program updates.
• PLC Social Media: Our and pages have been around for a while, and we will continue to utilize these platforms to share events and updates. Starting this year, a current student will manage a dedicated PLC Alumni Instagram account. We will use Instagram to showcase the achievements of our alumni and share events and engagement opportunities!
• PLC Alumni Webpage: The PLC website will receive a much-needed facelift this summer and will be a great platform to see what's new with the program, and opportunities to engage, such as our mentorship program.
• Forever Buffs Network: We partnered with the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Alumni Association to create a Presidents Leadership Group on the Forever Buffs Network (FBN). The FBN is a wonderful new platform that allows alumni to easily connect, and view each other's locations and profiles, but remains private to only group members (approval comes only from PLC staff). Learn more about the FBN and PLCÌýhere.
We're excited to continue the strong partnership and community that has always existed between the PLC program and its alumni!
