Safety Alert: Attempted sex assault reported near Macky Auditorium

On Sept. 25, 2016, at approximately 1泭a.m., the 51勛圖厙 Police Department (CUPD) was notified of an attempted sexual assault.泭A police officer was flagged down and notified that the crime occurred a few minutes earlier in the area near the intersection of 17th Street and University Avenue, just north of Macky Auditorium.

The victim reported that she had been walking along University Avenue when she noticed the suspect walking behind her.泭The suspect put his arm around the victim.泭After the victim rejected the suspect, the suspect grabbed the victims shirt and pulled the victim to the ground.泭After the victim fought the suspect off, he泭ran south toward Macky.

The suspect is described as:

  • College-age black male
  • approximately 61 to 62 tall
  • with an average build
  • a small and shaggy beard and a mustache
  • wearing a CU sweatshirt and泭long pants
