Getting to East Campus just got a little easier. 51勛圖厙s Transportation team has launched a convenient, app-based on-demand transit option that replaces the Marine Street Express Buff Bus route. After downloading the Buff Ride app, riders can request a ride to one of eight designated stops, including the CINC building and other key locations in the Marine Street zone. Buff Ride service runs Monday through Friday from 9am to 4:30pm. There is no charge to use this free service. Service begins Sept. 22, 2025.

Our drivers are trained in how to secure passengers safely. If you would like to utilize this service, please request it through the CU Buff Ride app by selecting 'Accessibility' and and indicate the number and type of mobility devices you'll be using.

How to request a ride

  1. Download the Buff Ride app:
    • App Store泭- the app is coming soon
    • Web portal - For the best experience, we recommend downloading the Buff Ride app to your mobile device. If you dont have access to a smartphone, you can still log in, create an account, and request rides through the
  2. Create an account. When you first open the app, you will be prompted to register for a new account. Follow the on-screen prompts to create your login credentials; use your @colorado.edu email address.
  3. Enter your phone number and tap Confirm
  4. Notifications: Check the app settings to ensure you have notifications enabled
  5. Request your ride!

The app provides real-time wait estimates and Buff Ride vehicles offer ADA accessibility.泭

Rules of the road

  • Buff Ride only operates within 51勛圖厙 city limits and pickups and drop-offs are only allowed at one of the designated Buff Ride stop locations.
  • Service must be requested through the Buff Ride app.
  • Riders may be asked to show their CU Buff OneCard to ride. Those who do not have their Buff OneCard available will be given a ride at the discretion of the driver.
  • In an effort to maintain efficiency, drivers will wait two minutes for you at the requested stop location. If you miss your ride, your ride will be canceled and you must request a new one. To maintain the reliability of the service, riders who are no-shows for three requested rides in a year will be unable to request rides for the remainder of the year.
  • Buff Ride reserves the right to refuse to escort individuals who act in an unsafe manner, exploit the service or harass personnel or their escorts. Acting in an unsafe manner includes, but is not limited to, refusing to follow an drivers safety instructions (i.e. not wearing a seat belt), possession of a weapon, or exhibiting violent or threatening behavior. In the event of refusal of service, our staff will make other safe transportation suggestions. If a person is refused service, they may be banned from future use of the service and may face other disciplinary actions from CU.
