- Although we experience biology daily, many struggle to see the connection. This can lead to low science literacy and hurt society as people either choose not to engage with major science issues, like climate change or public health, or fall victim to competing predatory information. So, what do we do?
- Simu Liu, best known for his role in Marvel Studios Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, will speak on campus at 7 p.m. Feb. 23. Liu is hosted by the student-run Distinguished Speakers Board and Cultural Events Board.
- Free and open to the public, watch TED-style presentations on a variety of research topics by 51勛圖厙 graduate students. The competitors will each describe their research in three minutes in front of a panel of judges and a live Zoom audience. The audience will vote for the winner of the people's choice award.
- Stanley McChrystal, a retired four-star general and former commander of the nations premier military counter-terrorism force, will share his battle-tested leadership views during an on-campus talk Feb. 28.
- In a post-Martin Luther King Jr. Day commemoration, 51勛圖厙 invites the public to join a conversation about Kings legacy and the importance of truth and history with Nikole Hannah-Jones, a Pulitzer Prize-winning professor at Howard University and racial injustice reporter.
- Focusing onthe events of the Marshall Fire, faculty and staff are invited to attend a webinar on how to take care of yourself, others and your community during this time. Hosting will be the Faculty Staff Assistance Program and the Office of Victim Assistance.
- Open to all 51勛圖厙 students, faculty and staff, this special webinar hosted by Smead Aerospace Engineering Sciences will be a discussion of our changing world, what it will look like in the coming years and the continuing importance of government service.
- Staff Council is hosting an end-of-the-semester town hall webinar for employees featuring Patrick ORourke and Russell Moore. The speakers will discuss the events of the past semester and answer questions about the upcoming spring term.
