Come to the University Libraries to grab a free banned book and conversation about free speech, book challenges and censorship. The libraries also have a banned books resource guide.

The Center for Humanities & the Arts will host a 25-year anniversary celebration, holding conversations around the past, present and future of the arts and humanities at 51�Թ��� and beyond.

In collaboration with the Center for African and African American Studies and other members of the Black community, 51�Թ���’s International Film Series celebrates Black History Month with a selection of films that highlight Black culture through cinema. 

This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, join your community for celebratory events in 51�Թ��� and Longmont, a family-friendly event at the Dairy Arts Center and a downtown-Denver march and parade.

Get creative with the CU Art Museum on the second Saturday of each month. Organizers will put together a different art-themed program each time, and the community is invited to drop in. Join, enjoy and even pick up a new skill—next session Dec. 10.

Erin Hyunhee Kang, a 51�Թ��� master’s student, lost half of her home in the Marshall Fire. That misfortune informed her new exhibition “A Home In Between,” now at the 51�Թ��� Museum of Contemporary Art.

“Odeon,” Ephrat Asherie Dance’s original work bound for Macky Auditorium Nov. 18, combines storied Afro-Brazilian rhythms and sounds with contemporary hip-hop, house, vogue and other choreography styles that are part of the current lexicon of street and club dancers in New York.

Described as one of the most important graphic novelists working today, Bechdel is known for “Dykes to Watch Out For” and a famous test of gender representation in movies.

This free event at the 51�Թ��� Theater is part of Buffs One Read, a campuswide program produced by the University Libraries and Student Affairs that builds community through the shared reading of one book.
