Provost's Post, April 2025

Dear colleagues,

Wow. That went fast.

Do I mean the nearly 32 years since I arrived at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø as a professor of physiology, the 15 years I’ve served as provost or the end of our semester?

Well, all of them, actually.

This edition of the Provost’s Post gives me the opportunity to muse on the past, present and future of 51³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s academic mission, which I encourage you to read about in the Perspectives section.

There is also a request from me and from Chief Information Officer Marin Stanek on why all of us need to upgrade our computer operating systems to ensure a technically secure campus, and a slew of announcements and updates to keep you on top of what’s happening as our semester comes to a close.

I’m not one for long goodbyes. So simply allow me to say that serving as provost at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø has been the professional honor of a lifetime. It has also been a pleasure to partner with you, work on your behalf and be among you.

Our next edition will be in June. My best to all of you for a strong and successful close to the academic year.

Warmly,

Russ
