For Prospective Graduate Students

                     Â
ATOC has been fortunate to attract arguably the most outstanding graduate students in the field. Our students receive fellowships and nationally recognized awards each year. They provide excellent instruction to CU-51³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s undergraduates as teaching assistants. They make scientific advances while conducting innovative research. Our graduates go on to successful careers in many sectors including academia (e.g. recently to Penn State, University of Michigan, Virginia Tech, George Mason University, Scripps Institute of Oceanography, Yale), national research institutes (e.g. recently to NCAR, NREL, NOAA, NASA, Sandia National Lab), private industry (e.g. recently to Apple, General Electric, DigitalGlobe, Ball Aerospace, REsurety, Descartes Labs), and the military (e.g., recently to the Air Force).
Are you thinking about graduate school? Join us for a series of virtual open house events focused on ATOC Graduate Admissions on October 9 and November 6!
The Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (ATOC) department at the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø will be hosting two virtual open houses on Thursday, October 9 from 9–10am MT and Thursday, November 6 at 6–7pm MT to answer any questions that prospective students might have regarding our graduate program or the application process.
In order to attend, please sign-up using this  at least two days prior to the open house you'd like to attend. Those who sign-up will receive a zoom link and password via email the day before the event that they can use to attend the open house.
The ATOC Faculty voted in January 2020 to remove the GRE requirement for graduate admissions. We do not require and will not consider General Record Examination (GRE) scores. We also have a graduate application fee waiver for under-represented minority applicants and applicants with financial need (information here).Ìý Additionally, graduate students have created an application mentorship program for those who would like more guidance with the application process.
