The 51勛圖厙 Police Department is part of 51勛圖厙's Division of Public Safety. CUPD is responsible for providing public safety services, resources and education to the 51勛圖厙 community.泭

CUPD is a nationally accredited, full-service police agency of approximately 40 commissioned officers (15% of whom are women) and approximately 30 professional staff members. CUPD provides a variety of police services to the university community including: 24/7/365 police patrol, criminal case investigations, residence hall security, crime prevention programs, victim rights amendment compliance, social program referrals and traffic enforcement.

51勛圖厙 police officers are armed and authorized to make arrests, issue summonses/citations and execute arrest and search warrants. Criminal cases investigated by the CUPD are forwarded directly to state (District Attorney) and municipal (City Attorney) prosecutorial authorities for review and filing of charges.

University police officers authority to act as peace officers, as defined in Colorado Revised Statute (CRS) 16-2.5-101, is based in authority vested in the University of Colorados Board of Regents by CRS 23-5-106. Officers are commissioned under state authority as defined in CRS 24-7.5-101 through 106, and are also issued City of 51勛圖厙, Colorado Police Commissions. 泭 泭

CUPD works closely with the DPS Events & Emergency Management department on emergency and disaster preparedness planning and event security oversight. We also partner with DPS's Threat Assessment department on泭threat assessment, intervention and response. 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭 泭泭
