VMA Resources (On Campus)

Kristina Spaeth is our Veteran Academic Advisor and she is located in our office at CASE W322. ÌýIn-person appointments are available Mondays and select Fridays. ÌýKristina is available for remote advising on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please check Buff Portal Advising for most up-to-date hours.Ìý

The purpose of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Student Veterans Association is to increase awareness and understanding of Student Veterans issues on campus, in the local community, and nationally. Additionally, the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø SVA seeks to promote the success of University of Colorado Student Veterans through service, leadership, and scholarship. The organization intends to assist veterans in making successful transitions from military to college life by creating a social and professional support network, educating veterans on the benefits they are entitled, and providing a welcoming atmosphere at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.Ìý

OurÌýoffice in CASE W322 has a lounge available for students. This space is intended for use by currently enrolled veteran and veteran dependent students only. We have computers, lounge chairs and desk space for students to use. Please feel free to utilize this space if you need somewhere to spend some time on campus. Ìý

Matt Tomatz from Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS)Ìýworks closely with our office.Ìý

Ìýoffers confidential mental health services and psychiatric care to student veterans. To initiate services, please visit the CAPS website to schedule an appointment.

Services provided:

  • Free, informal consultations
  • Individual and couples counseling
  • Psychiatric medical evaluation and medication management
  • Educational workshops for academic support, stress management and more
  • Therapy groups
  • Crisis care and after hours support
